Akshay Kumar once thanked the press for criticizing him to a point that it brought out the very best in him. Akshay has had 10 consecutive hits, beginning with Airlift (2016). He’s not had a flop in this age, making it a record few can replicate.

Akshay delivers between 3-4 movies annually unlike the majority of his contemporaries. The actor has already delivered two blockbusters in 2019: interval film Kesari and science play Mission Mangal. He has two more movies lined for launch — multi-starrer humor Housefull 4 and romcom Good News. Additionally, he’s already booked next year’s calendar for numerous projects: Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi, Laxmmi Bomb, Bachchan Pandey and historic Prithviraj.

It appears Akshay is competing with himself — all his movies is breaking the previous one’s record. Mission Mangal has earned Rs 194 crore until today, which makes it his biggest movie till date.

Among greatest earning actors on earth

Akshay is the maximum earning star in Bollywood and it’s no fluke. He’s secured the 33rd place in Forbes’ 2019 record of 100 highest-paid celebrities.

What sets this 52-year-old besides his rivals in Bollywood is his star power, his commercial reliability in the box office, his picture and the variety he brings out in his job to remain relevant constantly.

Assortment of roles

Akshay has rightfully earned the respect he holds in the market because of his choice of movies, most of which provide a social message to his countless fans. Few would have said yes to play with a Pad-Man or sign a movie titled Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. The celebrity has featured in a number of women-oriented movies and added his box office pull to them without watering down the topic or taking attention away from his co-stars.

Akshay once told Hindustan Times in an interview,”These things are taught to me by my own experience. I have discovered that if I do different genres, I will not be tagged. When I was able to do plenty of action, everybody said,’He’s an action hero and nothing else’. So, I tried humor, and then everybody was talking about just that. Then I decided I have to do different sorts of films. So, I’m thankful to individuals, and the press, for criticising me to that point and bringing out the very best in me.”

Akshay swears by subject

Akshay can easily be passed off as the fittest man out of his creation of Bollywood stars. The celebrity is a martial arts expert and prefers to perform his own stunts. His latest gimmick had him dangling from a helicopter when shooting Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi. The actor even angry his wife Twinkle Khanna by setting himself on fire at the start of his forthcoming Amazon series, The End.

Hardly seen at any of those glitzy Bollywood parties that have almost the whole movie industry in attendance, Akshay does not compromise on his fitness regimen or his sleeping timings.
